Moonshine

Last night I danced with the trees
When they stole away from their stance
And prayed in the forest with the stars all about!

A branch caught my small clothing
And I ran laughing naked
Til pausing in a field lit by a great white ball

Twas the moon looking down
Holding me sway in her gaze
She grew ever larger as I stared in her face

I could see my own naked shadow in her smile
Seeming larger from the distance
With edges all ablaze

Then turning to dew drop
I poured into the sky
And dived in the cup of the moon’s fluid face

The Soul Canvas

Brush bristles of smudged dreams drench my skin
Clairvoyant colors bleed deep in my veins
Dove draughts of mottled burnt offerings anoint me
I fling fistfuls of joy from my careless abandon

My soul is a canvas stretched taut yet so supple
I pine for the pressures of tincture and framings
Spiraling centers of coarse refinement
Breach the tide of my random a-musings

Sullenly slipping my grasp it releases
Frothing to flowing in rays of confection
Whirling to settle in flexible visage
‘Til adornment beacons my lover to gaze!
