Foreign Treasure

Where is the place we live…
this foreign land
that slept in slumbers of familiarity
for so many eons?
Yet we awaken
with a strange light
and our faces
fall short
of closeness
in the mirrors
of other’s times.

There is a smallness
in the heart
that turns back on itself
and searches for a source…
folds and folds
enfolds
a warm blanket now cold
with dew
 of a dawn
odd
in sensation
yet
this is our home…

Soul Tag

Dare try tame a soul created
As if any look fully perceives
Molecules of vibrancy that joust
And meet anew every moment

By any other name – call me nameless
One verse alone cannot sing a song
As sweet a melody to the ear
The key will change in dissonant chord

Hold familiar with looseness
To not stifle the breathing
As winds of ardor respire
From nostrils of nascent kindness

Love the tune, suffer the singing
As birds pause the wing to light the wind
Stars twinkle in death and life
Teaching our eyes the three in one

Dream of the Soul

What shabby spaces does my soul sleep?
What darkness shames my sorry sight?
In a cave I dwell with bated breath
No shadows to see in any flickering light

Yet something pulls me down and out
The entrance is dim and distant but there
No color at all, but hot flashes of bright
With a flash that x-rays the hollow of my soul

A hole so tiny yet vast in vacancy
A pinprick of moment that is nowhere at all
Such a draw that dances in dervish delight
With sole-less soul it lets ME go

In sudden I see YOU coming to me
I wait for your kiss, yet you pass me by
When I look to your back I see nothing at all
Then I know I AM gone….in…
