Cinema Landing

We traverse the horizon, yet just for a time
But arcs have a way of fooling the mind.
What draws us forward comes above and below
We center our point and focus to see.

What was the sky like that day in ‘41
When you landed with such cinema style?
Surely, heaven’s perspective changed forever
As one of its own lightly touched down.

For one small moment eternity brackets in time
A sacred life beautifies secular spaces.
A child, a laugh, a soul in movement
Such playful paths this one dear Heart…

The return is somber and sweet and sturdy
She leaves in still and breathless flight;
Climbing to heights where birds do beacon
Flecked clouds to follow in tearful delight!

  1. I agree with Mary Ann. I also love the beautiful photo you combined with this tribute. I miss her and continue to hold the moments we shared very dear, especially when she would look for us with such wide eyed anticipation, breaking the tension in her squint only after we put our faces close to hers announcing our presence. At that moment, it was as if all Glory came and she would gift us all with her cheery smile, squeaky voice, warm embrace, and quiet but firm instructions that lead to such a grace-filled visit. Happy birthday Mrs. Judy. I’m sure you remember the flowers especially since you are now such a real part of all that is living and good.
